Classic Cats- Who are we?

Back to Basics...

Hi, My name is Quentin. I am the owner of Classic Cats. I thought it would be appropriate to start this blog with an intro on myself and a little background on Classic Cats.

Right, I am classic car mad. There I said it. I have loved classic cars for as long as I can remember. I have two very sporty brothers, who were sporting stars at school, and then there was me. The kid who had no interest in sport but rather working on my 1958 VW Beetle every afternoon. I purchased my beetle when I was 13 years old and I still have the car today.

Fast forward a few years and a lot of hard work and the current Classic Cats fleet stands at 12 classic cars. Thankfully my brothers have both put down their cricket bats and each own a classic car now too!

Classic Cats was started by Jonathan Mayne back in 2007 with 3 classic Jaguars. He had one 1963 Jaguar Mk2 & 2 Jaguar MkVIII cars in his fleet. Jonathan and his wife Pam ran the business until 2013 when they decided to sell.

Classic Cats changed hands on the 1st of August 2013. The Jaguar fleet was actually reduced and I only managed to take 2 of Jonathans cars. The third, the 1957 Jaguar MkVIII was later added to the fleet again as finances allowed. I also added a modern Jaguar in 2015.

The rest of the fleet consists of a mix of classics that I have collected over the years. I have also added my families classics to the fleet. These include my Beetle, A Truimph Tr2, a few Mercedes Benz's a Mini and a very cute Fiat 500. All of which can be viewed at our showroom.

So what do we actually do?

We provide Classic Cars for weddings, matric dances, photoshoots, winelands tours and special occasions.

Our core business is weddings and classic car winelands tours. We are based in Stellenbosch so we like to focus on the winelands side but have done many weddings in Cape Town.

What makes us different is that we only use our own cars, so clients are not dealing with booking agents or 3rd parties. If you make contact with us you deal with me directly and there is a good chance that I might drive the car on the day. I liked the model from day one and it will not change.

I will touch on each service we offer in the up coming blogs, as well as the other classic car services we have added lately.

Thanks for taking the time to read my intro blog and please keep an eye out for the next one.

Keep it classic!

Quentin
